Overview

Based on Atmel's state-of-the-art 0.8 µm SOI technology SMART-I.S.™1, the watchdog timer is designed for safety-critical applications. Using a cyclically transmitted trigger signal, it resets the microcontroller in the event of a missing or wrong trigger signal. With voltage monitoring and power-on and supply voltage drop reset features, the ATA5021 offers a complete monitoring choice for micro-systems in automotive and industrial applications.
