Overview

Silicon Labs CPT007B TouchXpress Capacitive Touch Controller with the GPIO interface is a highly-integrated device that offers a simple solution for adding capacitive touch in new and legacy systems. The CPT007B TouchXpress controller enables designers to easily replace up to seven mechanical buttons with capacitive touch buttons. The TouchXpress devices eliminate the need for firmware development, thereby decreasing the time needed to deliver products to market. Designers can configure all the required capacitive touch sense parameters using a simple GUI-based configurator. Rated at 200�A in active mode and 1�A in sleep mode, the CPT007B controller quickly and easily delivers a low-power capacitive sense solution for embedded designs. Advanced features include wake-on proximity, moisture immunity, touch time-out, mutually-exclusive touch qualifier, and buzzer feedback for an enhanced user experience. The GPIO interface provides a direct on/off sensor status to the host processor. Available in a 3mm x 3mm QFN package, the CPT007B controller  supports up to 7 capacitive sensor inputs and is ideal for home appliances, instrument/control panels, medical equipment, consumer electronics, white goods, and lighting control.
