Overview

The CD40192BCN is a presettable 4-bit BCD up/down counter IC. Two input counts manage the processes of counting up and counting down: one remains at a HIGH state, while the other gets clocked. The transition of outputs happens during the positive phase of this clock. These counters come with preset inputs which activate when the load reads as a logical "0". A clear function also sets all outputs to "0" when in a logical "1" state. Additionally, these counters come equipped with carry and borrow outputs, allowing seamless cascading without needing external components. To safeguard against potential static discharge damage, all inputs are shielded with clamps connected to VDD and VSS.
