Overview

The MA46600 series of microwave tuning varactorsis a family of abrupt junction gallium arsenide devicesfeaturing Q factors in excess of 8000. Thisseries is specifically designed for broadband high Qtuning performance (up to 8000 at -4 volts and 50MHz) from L through Ka band. Characteristics suchas high reliability, low leakage and close capacitancetracking between diodes are typical of thesedevices. Standard capacitance matching is ± 10%,but closer matching is available upon request. Alldiode types are available in a wide selection of ceramicpackages as well as in chip form.The MA46600 series of tuning varactors can beused for both broad and narrow band tuningthrough Ka-band. Typical applications include solidstate tuning of VCOs using transistors or Gunns aswell as voltage tunable filters and amplifier circuits.The GaAs abrupt junction tuning varactors offer thehighest Q of any tuning varactors and are utilized inhigh frequency applications where Q is premium.
