Overview

The MC56F8247VLHR is a member of the 56800E core-based family of Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs). It combines, on a single chip, the processing power of a DSP and the functionality of a microcontroller with a flexible set of peripherals to create a cost-effective solution. Due to its low cost, configuration flexibility, and compact program code, the MC56F8247VLHR is well-suited for various consumer and industrial applications.

Other features include the Computer Operating Properly (COP) watchdog timer, wait and stop modes with fast wakeup, single supply, and interrupt controller (INTC) with various interrupt priority levels. Peripherals encompass one Enhanced Flex Pulse Width Modulator (eFlexPWM), two Quad Timers, two 12-bit ADCs, one 12-bit DAC, three analog High-Speed Comparators (HSCMPs), one Queued Serial Peripheral Interface (QSPI) module, two high-speed Queued Serial Communication Interface (QSCI) modules, two Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) ports, one Scalable Controller Area Network (MSCAN) module, Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) Generator, Inter-module Crossbar Switch (XBAR), and up to 54 general-purpose I/O (GPIO) pins with 5 V tolerance, configurable push-pull, and open-drain output.
