Overview

The CD4020BCN is a 14-stage ripple-carry binary counter/divider integrated circuit (IC). It contains 14 flip-flops that can count binary pulses or divide frequencies by powers of 2. The counter moves up by one with every downward tick of the clock pulse. It returns to the zero position when there's a logical "1" at the reset input, regardless of the clock's state.
