Overview

The CD40193BCN is a CMOS 4-bit binary up/down counter with preset and clear inputs. It can count upward and downward directions based on control signals and clock inputs. The processes of counting up and down are managed by two count inputs, one kept at a HIGH state and the other clocked. The outputs shift during the upward phase of the clock. Additionally, the counter has to carry and borrow outputs, enabling it to cascade without external components. To safeguard against potential static discharge, all inputs are shielded using clamps connected to VDD and VSS.
