Overview

The LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF is a point-to-point SMBus compatible I2Cslave device extender designed for operation in high noiseindustrial environments. Using a ±60V fault protecteddifferential transceiver, the LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF can extend an I2C/SMBus bus, including SMBALERT and a control signal,over a single twisted pair differential link up to 1200m.With an extended common mode operating range thesolution provides tolerance to large ground differencesbetween nodes. For EMI sensitive environments, a slewrate control pin reduces the EMI emitted from the differentiallink.

A master controller fully supporting SCL clock-stretchingis strongly recommended.
